In this episode of the iGary podcast I take a look at the latest update to Google’s algorithm, called Vince, after the Google employee who came up with it.

The update has been talked about across the SEO world and Search Engine Land blogged about Google’s response here.

The update has refined further the need for trust, quality and authority to rank for major generic terms. Google have pointed out that this update does not affect long tail keywords, just major generic keywords.

It will probably have most effect on young domains who don’t have top quality content or authoritative inbound links.

In short it’s just one of many hundreds of tweaks Google do each year and I’m sure there will be more drastic changes to come.
